On December 26th of 2008, a violent storm affected a great part of the north of Catalonia’s coasts, causing human and material losses.  It was the most extreme weather event of the last 25 years in the north-western Mediterranean, with wind of unusual strength, from the gulf of Genoa to the Catalan littoral, with waves of 14 meters.
Current picture (June 2014) of the same place. Even a whole row of tamarisks had to be replaced and the sea promenade was magnificently rebuilt in less than six months.
